MEMBERS CONCERT

The traditional date for the Members Concert will change this year from the Saturday following Epiphany to the 19th of December, as we have thought it is more appropriate in order to celebrate Christmas as well as hold the traditional Members Dinner. We will be updating news on this next month, but we can pre-inform everyone that the deep voice Saint Lucia Choral from Llodio, with whom the Biotz Alai has shared performances in the past, will be invited.

The Members Concert is our favourite concert of the year, which we dedicate to our folk, to Algorta and to all those who feel a part of the Biotz Alai. This year,of course, we wish to dedicate it to Patxi Garcia, an unconditional friend to the choir, who set high standards with his knowledge of music, especially choral music in each of his presentations at hundreds of concerts throughout the world alongside Basque choirs as in his excellent work in the press, on the radio and TV, in politics…basically in each and every undertaking of his life. Patxi Garcia presented this Members Concert for more than 30 years, along with Jose Estankona at first as an unforgettable duo, then solo.
His amazing education and culture, above all in the musical field, turned him into a valuable counselor for all those who wished to learn from him as well as always being set value for all those who needed him and most of all for his friends.
He always had a kind word of worship and support for the Biotz Alai. Our choir, the Sestao Choral Society and the Jatorki Choral were his most loved choirs. As we probably did not fully express our gratitude for his support and cooperation whilst alive, today we wish to honour a grand man with this concert: PATXI GARCIA
