UPCOMING BIOTZ ALAI CHOIR EVENTS

After the
successfull selling out of the total available 2,200
seats at the Getxo Habanera and Marine Song Festival
held in the marquis set up in the Chess Square in Las
Arenas, the Biotz Alai Choir will participate in the
upcoming Sixth Autumn Choral Event, to be held at the
Iratxe Monastery in Navarre on Sunday, September
21st. The mentioned event takes place every Sunday at
the Monastery throughout the month of September. The
choir will interpret religious polyphonic pieces as
well as traditional songs from both Basque and
International origins.
On October 2nd and 3rd the Biotz Alai choir, alongside the Easo Choir from San Sebastian, the Araba Choir from Vitoria, the Deep Voice Navarre Choir from Pamplona will join the B.O.S./Bilbao Symphonic Orchestra, under the baton of its newly appointed director Günter Neuhold, staging the Cherubini Requiem in D major for Deep Voices at the Pay-Season Opening of the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra.
More than 170 choir members will be present on the Euskalduna Concert Hall stage in order to interpret such a magnificent piece, which was composed by the author to be held at his own funeral.
This piece has already been interpreted by the Biotz Alai, alongside the Sestao Choral Society and the Bilbao Symphonic Orchestra, under the baton of Urbano Ruiz Laorden.
The Requiem will be staged on October 2nd and 3rd and the tickets are available on sale at the Euskalduna Concert Hall ticket booth.
Next October 24th, the Biotz Alai will perform alonside the Ondarreta Choir and the Markina Choir at the Andres Isasi Music School in Las Arenas in a charity concert towards the Soriasis Association
