CONDUCTOR REPLACEMENT AT THE BIOTZ ALAI MEMBERS CONCERT

Alai choir will hold the XXXIX edition of its
traditional Members Concert this upcoming January
10th. This time the concert will be held at the San
Nicolas de
Bari church in Algorta since the local theater, the Getxo Antzokia, has been demolished. The concert will serve as a farewell to Javier Oyarzabal, choir conductor, who after 20 years of service to the choir has to leave due to work reasons. He took charge of the baton at a members concert in January 1989, when Juan Jose Gainza left the position. It was a temporary decision which ended up turning in to 20 years of dedicated service to the choir, sharing success, hard work and many anecdotes which will always be a part of the choir annals. The Biotz Alai will always hold a place in its heart for its “Dire”.
Josu Soldevilla, prestigious musician, will abandon his current choir activities in order to focus exclusively on the position of Biotz Alai choir conductor from now on. We wish him the best of success with the choir and hope that the duration of his “baton” is as long and productive as those who preceeded him.
The Members Concert will begin at 8pm, to be followed by the Members Dinner which will take place at the Igeretxe Hotel.
