Season’s Greeting to Members of the Choir
December/19/2005
Dear Friends:
It is difficult to begin a letter in a way that genuinely conveys what one wants to say to one’s friends, without falling back on the typical clichés. Nevertheless, this year as ever other, we want to find a moment among your Christmas celebrations to express our affection and gratitude for being loyal supporters of the Biotz Alai and, together with ourselves, managing to ensure that this choir, which belongs to everyone, sustains its record of contributing to choral music and, in particular, to Basque Folklore.
This year’s seasonal greetings are accompanied by a photograph taken in front of our beloved church of San Nicolás, the heart of our choir and of some many lives and stories in Algorta. It has been a good year for the Biotz Alai, culminating in the presentation of a new CD which includes songs recorded in 1976, as well as some newly recorded for this release. Most of you will already know the story behind this CD, but the choir would like restate its thanks to all who contributed to the recording.
The Member’s concert will take place on January 7 at the Getxo Antzokia at 8 pm. This year the entire program will be performed by the Biotz Alai, who will be using the opportunity to revisit their recorded discography. As always, after the concert we will celebrate with the traditional “Dinner of Brotherhood”, which will take place at the Hotel Igeretxe.
We wish you all the very best for the New Year, and hope that this Christmas is filled with happiness and that Olentzero brings music and peace to all of you.
THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
NB: Members of the choir can collect tickets for the concert from the premises of the choir between December 30 and January 4.
Invitations for the Members’ dinner can be obtained from the same locations from December 20 onwards, priced at 36 euros.
